Whew, the last few weeks have been a blur!
With the craziness of work and school all of a sudden we find ourselves with only 2 weeks of classes left! The past couple of weeks I have been writing midterms, finishing papers, and searching for a practicum placement for next fall! This is really exciting but also a bit of an intimidating task. In the 4 year Behavioural Sciences program the practicum is a year long - so I'm really wanting to find one that I enjoy. So far i've interviewed with Youth for Christ and Calgary Catholic Immigrants Society. I have one more interview and then i'll have to decide! Whats great about the BHS practicum is that there are soooo many options you have. You can really go in so many directions with BHS so it opens a lot of doors. I am really passionate about social justice and international relations so I'm hoping that my practicum will fit with that. However, I know that regardless of where I end up it will an awesome experience of learning and growing and better understanding my strengths.
This past week here at Ambrose was Global Action Week. It was an incredible week full of opportunities to go to lectures and hear about different topics relating to social justice. You could also make t-shirts for Global Action Week which if you wore them helped to raise money! It was an awesome week that ended with a benefit Talent Show and let me tell you - Ambrose has some talented people!! It was complete with a magic show - where I was called up on stage! and lots of amazing singers and songwriters!

LYC
Hey everyone!
Wow, it is getting crazy around Ambrose. The vibe is really cool as a lot of people are running around getting last minute stuff ready and prepped for LYC! Its always such a great weekend that not only is a lot of fun but really cool to see how many youth are really affected and challenged by the weekend! This year I am on the Care committee as well as working backstage for entertainment. It should be a lot of fun because for Care we are basically helping in whatever area needs the most help - meaning we get a lot of variety and to see a lot of aspects of LYC. I should head off because we are having our dress rehearsal soon for entertainment! Have a good weekend!

Coming to you from beautiful Vancouver, BC!
This was a sort of a last minute trip but one that was well worth it! Thankfully, my Nana lives in Vancouver which means not only do I get to see her too, but free food and a place to stay!... things that suddenly become invaluable to a university student. The weather is absolutely beautiful and there is an awesome vibe around the city because of the olympics! I have gotten to go to a couple of events which has been phenomenal and saw Alex Bilodeau awarded the first Canadian gold on home soil!!! It's been such a needed break to get away and just forget about studying for a few days. Today I'm going back downtown to see the sights and then I'm going to a hockey game tonight! Tomorrow I head back to the valley to visit some friends before making my way back to Calgary.

Midtermsssssss
It is that time already . . . when the library is packed and everyone is stressing about midterm and papers. This week for me is especially crazy, with three midterms, three papers, a portfolio to complete and a statistics assignment all to finish before the end of the week! Oh and did I mention having to work on top of that?! Needless to say, I have spent minimal hours sleeping and maximum hours pouring over textbooks and spending hours at my computer. Thankfully, this week will end on a high note with the start of reading break! It comes at perfect timing because without it I would probably go crazy! I think I might go for a couple of days to Vancouver to visit some friends and family. It will be really neat too cause the Olympics will add a really cool vibe to the city I’m sure!
Well, I should probably get back to studying . . . unfortunately.
I hope to see you all at the open house on THURSDAY!!!
Have a good week!

Phil 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
